I love Knitting, reading, quilting and cooking. I have three children and a grandaughter. So I very rarely get to knit or quilt for myself. I'm not complaining.

Socks for me

It has done nothing but raining all day. Did a lot today before the body gave out. Finished this pair of socks for myself using worsted weight yarn. It's the first time I've used Knitpicks yarn for socks. It was much nicer than I thought. I usually use fingering yarn for my socks. I started thinking I would just make a quick pair and got tired of round and round half way up the foot.

PATTERN Top down Yarn austermann Needle size 2
First part of completed socks

Made this last Xmas for daughter. lion brand yarn with lion brand pattern.

Hello Again

Hello again. I'm going to try blogging again.
Many projects have been completed since I last blogged and many new yarns have been tried. I had not knitted since my children were young, when my disability started I took up quilting to keep my mind going even though my legs were not. In the last year I have done little quilting since I now need help. I started knitting again last year at this time, I had always wanted to learn how to knit socks. So I join some yahoo groups and started. Since than I have tried mittens, gloves and hats (all fair isle). I'm having a great time but spend much of my time frogging and starting over. I have also joined http://ravelry.com/ and spend a large part of my computer time on it. In the days to come I will start posting again with photos.

Clogs

These are Clogs for my daughter Jami. They are my first felted project. I used the Paton Classic wool and the pattern from Fiber Trends. They go up fast but I found the pattern was not confusing but printed so small with so many sizes I had to rewrite it for the size I needed.

Felted bag

Sorry about not blogging for so long, but Ravelry called. It is the best.
I can find out what a yarn looks like in a finished project before I even order it. We all write comments so you can alter a pattern before you even start it.
Well enough for now about Ravelry.
I have finished knitting my felted bag and just need to felt it. I loved working with the Paton Classic Wool. I have already felted a pair of knitted clogs and the Paton felts beautifully.
I also learned a Ravelry not to mix two different yarn together as they might felt at a different rate.

New Project

This my first attempt at a felted bag, of course I didn't pick a small project. This is Vogue Holiday issue 2006. I joined the fair isle felted tote on Blogspot and the Bag-A-Holic yahoo. They both have been quit helpful.

summers over

Sorry about not up the blog. Summer just seems to run away with time. Health issue are also present . I have started my first glove but pulled it all out because my daughters have the smallest bones. I have just order size zero needles from knitpicks and as soon as I get them I will start over again.

Cats

We have two new kittens. My daughter found them along side the road. I wish people would neuter they animals because not everyone is a sucker like me.

They have chewed thought all the cables on my needles and now I have to wait to buy more. But I love them just the same. I think I have talked my son into taking one. I think 2 dogs and 6 cats is a little to many.

kool-aid socks

I
I have always wanted to try dyeing yarn so these socks are done with http://kntpicks.com dk weight yarn. I used the toe up pattern in Interweave Magazine and each strip is a different flavor of Kool-aid. I had a lot of fun dyeing the yarn and with all the yarn shop over one hour away I think I will be doing this again.

Socks

Although these look like the last pair I made they are the leftovers and palette yarn from http://kntpicks.com/ . It's amazing how close the colors are.
Size 2 circular
60 stitches top down
Sorry about not blogging for a while but summer has happen and the days go by so fast. I have been busy knitting and reading everyone elses blogs. I haven't gotten back to quilting yet and I have to finish to duffle bags for my daughter for gifts.

visitor

We haven't named her yet, but she seems to be making our land her home. She is trying to get brownies out of the bottom of a dunkin donuts cup.

Pets

This is one of our older cats. Her name is Libby and she is the biggest cat we have. She loves to eat and is the gentlest one of all the cats

Memorial Day

Well everyone ditched me for Memorial day. Kati (gd) started working as a lifeguard, Jodi was in Maryland meeting her boyfriend's parents. Nick met a new girl and Jami was in and out with her bf.

I got a lot of knitting done. Finished a pair of socks in Sockotta and have one more skein to go. I really like the way this knits up.

Fair Isle Help

Well I put the question to my fair Isle group and they came up with a lot of ways to correct this. I'm going to try them all and see what works best for me. I'm also going to list them in my next post. Maybe someone else is looking for some hints.

Fair Isle

I have been working on Patterns I order from the I love lama series. I finished the desired animal and have to pull the whole sock out because it was to tight. I was using the weave technique. I didn't want to carry float on the inside of the sock.

update Frogged this and never pick up again. Have plans to start soon.
